Been a long time since I’ve posted anything! I am still working on Episode 40, I’m starting to think it should be a mix of animations and stills simply to keep me from taking WAY too long on it. Very soon I will post a teaser of some of the animations on loop just to give you an idea of what I’ve been working on.
Also, I have been hashing out some story of ROAR, the comic within a comic (pretty meta right?). Here we see the big Manlion himself with his companions, together they are… The Call of the Wild!
Four strong heroes defending mankind in the War for the Mortal Realm. An evil necromancer has taken control of the dead and is attempting to become ruler of the planet. The New Gods have assembled this powerful team to battle against the wicked one’s minions and restore balance to the land.
Character Bios :
ROAR, Half-Man, Half-Lion, All Hero
The Gods were surprised when they found this beastly figure roaming the surface of the Sun. They could only speculate that he was some forgotten abomination of the last age, banished to a solar prison where he hunted the dragons that lived there. They decided he would make an acceptable addition in the War for the Mortal Realm.
ROAR is a no nonsense kinda guy. Since he was cast down from the sky, he has wasted no time in familiarizing himself with modern weaponry and technology. Though he cannot speak (he only growls or roars), he listens very intently and learns well because of this.
The Gods still aren’t sure if it was cool to remove him from the Fires in which they found him but they needed a Hero to battle the Wicked Ones and they have chosen ROAR!!!
ROAR normally carries an M-3 Power Rifle and also relies on his brute strength to destroy his enemies.
Bombshell, the Angel of Death at the End of an Era.
The exact origins of this beauty are sketchy. Some say she sprang to life from a painting on the side of an old bomber plane. Others say she is the descendant of the ancient Valkyries and some heroic traits, once dormant, have reawakened because of this time of peril.
Regardless of her past, this winged woman deals death from the sky and makes an excellent scout for ROAR and his comrades. Bombshell is both beautiful and compassionate and her presence is always a morale booster for any soldiers fighting in the War for the Mortal Realm.
Bombshell drops mortars and grenades down on her enemies and is deadly accurate with her old laser rifle.
Testudo, the Incredible Corporal of Cargo.
This Tortoise of a man is said to be able to carry uncanny amounts of weight in his (s)hellish pack.
Young soldier, Testudo, was once tasked with re-supplying a stranded platoon that was running low on munitions. The strong lad slowly stomped through a battlefield under heavy enemy fire, nothing was said to be able to pierce his supernaturally brimful inventory kit. He singlehandedly resupplied his comrades in ONE TRIP.
When the soldiers returned home safely to base, everyone called for celebration. Testudo was said to have retrieved an entire recreation tent complete with full bar from his backpack. “AMAZING!”
He is the closest thing to a friend that ROAR has. The two share a similar favorite passtime, which is feasting heavily.
Testudo carries a high-powered machine gun to vanquish his enemies.
Kali, the Dangerous Diva of the Underdark.
Kali left a comfortable life of nobility in the Underworld to help the mortals up above. Her kingdom was growing restless because the dead had stopped digging down from the land of the living and this meant there were no dues being paid for entrance into the afterlife.
No one knowns what deal she made to pass from the Land of the Dead to that of the Living but it is apparent that a beating heart has been tricky for her to deal with ever since it started to tick in her torso. There are many things she has never had to deal with before : emotions, highs and lows, love and loss.
Kali is very capable with her numerous limbs and her strong serpent body. Her grasp of technology is tight and occasionally she hints of having hidden magics from her home. It is said that no one can resist her will when all six of her hands are holding them.
Kali has never accepted military pay, declaring she will continue to work for free so long as she keeps receiving shirts that actually fit her.
She carries several sidearms and a shield with her but she usually serves a squad best as a specialist or a surgeon.
